The sand and the sea.

"Every day the sand and the sea still meet to kiss each other undeniably. Even if sand pushes away the sea or if sea decides to spend some time with the other fishes underneath, something has always drawn the two back to each other eventually, like it was meant to be, as if they were made for nobody else."

Can we be like them, now and forever?

Beauty

Hello everyone. So I came across this girl, Dakota Rose, on Youtube and found her extremely familiar. She is part of this growing number of women who are Barbie wannabes, it isn't surprising that P (as well as a million other boys) is/are pretty smitten with her beauty, right? So, this got me thinking about the definition of beauty. Till today, people still look at Barbie and find that she is the definition of physical beauty.. with massive eyes that occupy a third of her face, a small pointy nose, pouty lips with an obvious cupid's bow, etc. Admittedly, my definition of a good looking woman is parallel to that. C'mon, who actually appreciates small, oriental eyes that disappear whenever a joke is being told? Of course, this is a very general statement made by yours truly, there are people who consider oriental eyes a very unique feature, especially in the modeling industry. Anyway... huge eyes, small nose and tiny mouth. I looked into the mirror last night and saw none of the above. I then cried myself to sleep knowing that I had to live with such features that will never be considered beautiful... just kidding, I had to watch Ellen Degeneres to distract myself and then fall asleep without being reminded of how deformed I will look beside Dakota Rose. This accounts for an entry without a picture of myself.

As much as I'll like to think that beauty isn't all about symmetry or weight or makeup, the society is telling me otherwise. Unless you are good looking, you don't matter as much.. how true is that? X

Here's the video that I caught last night to cheer myself up. X

Dear diary

Today I started writing in my diary... And in time to come, I'll be laughing at every event that has been noted, thinking how silly I have been. X

Bangkok: Baiyoke Sky Hotel

The highlight of our first day is definitely the outdoor dinner on the 82nd floor of Baiyoke Hotel. Well, if you haven't heard, it is Thailand's tallest hotel and probably the best place to get a panoramic view of the city. No tourist should ever miss this out, especially if they are in Pratunum.

We were very lucky to be there in the late evening, just in time to catch the sunset. I remember getting up the building was quite annoying though, we had to take a total of three lifts, where every point of transfer had a queue. Heard from Adrian that the hotel actually has an express glass elevator for impatient people like us, more importantly for those who is dying to get a view of going up/down the tower. We only requested for the outdoor seating upon reaching the restaurant's entrance because we weren't aware of such an arrangement and it was only an additional 200 baht each (I think?). Their buffet spread was extensive, but I am really not a buffet person and there was only so much that I could eat.. As usual, P had to do all the eating in order to make our pennies worth, haha. While he focused on the seafood section, I went around sampling everything else in ant's portion. I remember their waiters had to constantly usher me to the table/area because I, being extremely forgetful, always end up at the wrong end. Drinks are not included in the buffet and do not get their iced coffee cause it was horrible.

In total, we spent SGD80++ which is considered inexpensive for such a noble dining experience. P even wanted to have the dinner buffet again for the third night but nah, it didn't happen. Anyway, to those who are travelling to Bangkok, be absolutely sure to try dining at Baiyoke Sky Restaurant or Crystal Grill. And if you are also looking for a place to stay, Baiyoke Hotel is also highly recommended for those who are looking for an extra huge hotel room/suite with a mind-blowing view of Bangkok :)

Happy times

Prive with P last evening and we were both dressed in animal prints! Haha, it's quite a cute theme, ain't it? The weather was pretty much a killer, we were perspiring in the heat and finished our meal within a brief 30 minutes. I swear if we stayed any longer we would taste sweat in our food.. yes, it was that bad. Yikes.

Thank god P didn't go ahead with his usual Aglio Olio this time and ordered the Crispy Skin Salmon which was really healthy (yay) and succulent. His soup, Prawn Bisque was commendable too although it tasted rather bitter when cold. I had eggs benedict but sadly, there was no one to take the other portion :( I didn't finish my orders, both eggs benny and malted maltesers milkshake. The latter was extremely sweet, nearly died when the glass was almost half empty...

So, it's Mother's Day today, I just wished my mom, have you?

Oh, and I am glad everything is well now :))))))
