The highlight of our first day is definitely the outdoor dinner on the 82nd floor of Baiyoke Hotel. Well, if you haven't heard, it is Thailand's tallest hotel and probably the best place to get a panoramic view of the city. No tourist should ever miss this out, especially if they are in Pratunum.

We were very lucky to be there in the late evening, just in time to catch the sunset. I remember getting up the building was quite annoying though, we had to take a total of three lifts, where every point of transfer had a queue. Heard from Adrian that the hotel actually has an express glass elevator for impatient people like us, more importantly for those who is dying to get a view of going up/down the tower. We only requested for the outdoor seating upon reaching the restaurant's entrance because we weren't aware of such an arrangement and it was only an additional 200 baht each (I think?). Their buffet spread was extensive, but I am really not a buffet person and there was only so much that I could eat.. As usual, P had to do all the eating in order to make our pennies worth, haha. While he focused on the seafood section, I went around sampling everything else in ant's portion. I remember their waiters had to constantly usher me to the table/area because I, being extremely forgetful, always end up at the wrong end. Drinks are not included in the buffet and do not get their iced coffee cause it was horrible.

In total, we spent SGD80++ which is considered inexpensive for such a noble dining experience. P even wanted to have the dinner buffet again for the third night but nah, it didn't happen. Anyway, to those who are travelling to Bangkok, be absolutely sure to try dining at Baiyoke Sky Restaurant or Crystal Grill. And if you are also looking for a place to stay, Baiyoke Hotel is also highly recommended for those who are looking for an extra huge hotel room/suite with a mind-blowing view of Bangkok :)
